Will you help?

Gigi is a precious little five year old girl with a heart, emotions, and needs just like any other five year old girl - well maybe not exactly like any other five year old. She does have a few additional needs. One being her deafness. Gigi is 100% deaf and has had very little formal intervention or help in teaching her signs. Can you imagine being five and virtually unable to communicate with those around you? Assuming, that is, that any of those around you even care to try to communicate. She also has the need for a family. One who will love her and help her to excel. Someone who will teach her and be there for her when she needs them. But her greatest need is to know the Lord. I can only imagine that this deaf, orphaned girl has very little knowledge of the God who created and loves her.

My heart broke when I first saw her picture. Since I was unable to be the one to adopt her I became her prayer warrior and began praying every day that God would send her a family that would point her to Him.
Praise God He answered my prayers and has sent her a family who loves Him and her as well. The Stevens have three of their own children, the oldest girl being close to Gigi's age. They are ready to pour out love into her heart. Not just their love, but God's love. They are prepared to help her learn sign language and teach her about the God who created her so wonderfully.

Once I knew that she had a family, I began praying about how I could help them. I can't help with their home study or their dossier, but I can help them raise support. Prayer support, most of all, but also financial support. Adoption is very costly. If I could, I would pay the way for them, but I can't. And most likely you can't either. But if we all work together, then we can prove to be a blessing to them and to Gigi. We can have the privilege of being a part of a wonderful work. That's what this blog is all about. It's about helping the Stevens family bring Gigi home through our prayers and financial support.
